STEP ONE
The first step is to identify your home's energy efficiency by testing your home's performance with a home energy audit. Abacus Energy Solutions has three Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® testing solutions that will fit any budget:
STEP TWO
The second step is to have Abacus Energy Solutions create a plan of action that will fit your budget and improve your energy efficiency.
STEP THREE
The third step is to put the plan in action and make the agreed upon improvements.
STEP FOUR
The final step is to retest the house for improved efficiency and use that data to maximize your available cash incentives and tax credits.
Home Check with ENERGY STAR® by Abacus Energy Solutions
This 1-2 hour Home Performance with ENERGY STAR inspection focuses on combustion safety, efficiency and health issues within your home. Our Abacus Energy Solutions specialists will assess potential moisture and air quality-related problems.
You will receive a detailed report and recommendations from our expert. If we determine that work needs to be done we will either install the upgrades ourselves or refer you to other trusted professionals. All of our partners are certified and are trade allies of the Energy Trust of Oregon.
With this inspection you will receive:
- A detailed safety and home health report detailing carbon monoxide levels, moisture issues and mold assessment. In addition you will be provided with a recommended plan of action for future home efficiency improvements.
Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® by Abacus Energy Solutions
This comprehensive 3–4 hour home assessment is led by an Abacus Energy Solutions specialist who who uses state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment to assess, test and evaluate all components of your home's health, safety and energy performance. With this you will receive:
- A detailed energy consumption report and customized action plan for home efficiency improvements, comparing what you pay now to what you could be paying when your home runs at peak performance.
- A list of available cash incentives for efficiency improvements to your home.
ENERGY STAR® with COMFORT CONTROL by Abacus Energy Solutions
This is the highest level of energy auditing service and usually takes two crew members up to 8 hours to complete the inspection and reporting. Energy Star with Comfort Control includes both the Home Check and the Home Performance with Energy Star service and adds the installation of any agreed-upon energy efficiency, safety or health-related improvements or upgrades. The crew then will repeat leakage tests on the building shell – and on the duct system, if sealing the duct system was part of the work scope. The difference between the results of the “in-test” and “out-test” will quantify the energy-efficiency improvements.
With this inspection you will receive:
- A detailed energy consumption report and customized action plan for home efficiency improvements, comparing what you pay now to what you could be paying when your home runs at peak performance.
- A list of available cash incentives for efficiency improvements to your home.
- Tests before the and after improvements have been made to the home.
- We will complete all of the paperwork for your incentives so you don't have to.
